The weather excellent for last Saturdays Mattishall Beer Festival, encouraging well over 1000 real ale lovers to South Green Park.
The festival was once again a roaring success with hundreds of families enjoying the music, food, good weather and of course, the beer.

In total over 4000 pints were consumed in 12 hours including 6 different ciders.
Centre manager Mark Raines said: “The Mattishall Beer Festival has grown incredibly over the last four years, and it is good to see men, women and families of all ages coming here.” He added: “We brought in 52 barrels of ale holding 72 pints in each, also following demand we doubled the numbers of ciders on offer this year and we sold out of them all!”

The success of this event and others around the county is contradicting national statistics and the trade rumours that less and less people are drinking real Ale.
The condition of the Ale is an important factor and is very difficult to manage when you are running an outdoor event on one of the hottest days of the year but this year just like the previous, the beer was all settled well in advance in purpose built cooling racks that were kindly supplied by the Wolf Brewery.
The good news is that the date has already been set for next year’s Mattishall Beer Festival:
Saturday 25th July 2009
